Unfortunately due to a combination of Covid restrictions and a huge surge in cat ownership across the world there is now a global shortage of cat vaccines.

To ensure we can protect as many cats as possible with the limited doses available we are prioritising kitten vaccines.

Regular cat boosters can be safely delayed for 3 months within which time we hope that supplies will be more stable.

In the event that supplies are still delayed we will offer an amnesty for any vaccinations that require a restart so there will be no financial penalty.

In order to keep other clients and our staff safe whilst indoors we require all clients to wear a mask whilst in our buildings. If you do not want to wear a mask we will see you outside as we have been doing throughout the pandemic.

To limit the number of people within the practice we still request 48 hours notice for all medications and will make a time slot for collection.

Please see below the changes that have been put in place

• 1 person to attend an appointment where possible
• Arrive 2 minutes before your appointment, if you are early please wait in your car.
• If you have any symptoms, please reschedule your appointment.
• If you have any symptoms, and you have an emergency. Please telephone the practice and they will advise you regarding the procedure to follow
• On arrival, please stop at the distance line, book in, use the hand sanitiser supplied and please take a seat
• Please keep a distance of 1 meter between yourself and other clients
• Repeat prescriptions need to be ordered over the telephone and paid for before collecting.
• Flea & Worming treatments need to be ordered and paid over the telephone 24 hours before collection
• Please can you telephone the practice instead of just popping in

Staff will be wearing gloves and visors, please do not be alarmed or offended. This is a precautionary measure to protect everyone.

There has been a single reported case of a dog having become infected by Covid19 in the news recently. However, the World Organisation for Animal Health states that “There is no evidence that companion animals, such as dogs, play a role in the spread of this human disease or that they become sick.”

If you are diagnosed with Covid-19, the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that you restrict contact with your pets as a precautionary measure. If you have to care for a sick pet, it is recommended that you take some basic precautionary measures. Wash your hands before and after any interaction with your pet and wear a facemask.

In the very unlikely event that your pet shows clinical signs, please do not bring it in to the practice. Please ring us for further advice. Visit our “Contact us” page for all our contact details.
